The world's most expensive beers come from every corner of the Earth (and beyond) with countries like the US, China and Belgium all producing some super quality beers. Most of them are limited edition beers, which are sometimes hard to buy even with money.

1. BrewDog The End of History (Belgian Blond Ale)

18.8 million VND for 650ml

This limited edition beer from BrewDog is one of the company's iconic high-alcohol beers. At 55%, The End of History is so strong that the manufacturers recommend drinking it in small portions. BrewDog is an independent brewery and its penchant for pushing the boundaries of beer is not for the faint of heart.
First, the bottles were individually crafted using real animals that had died of natural causes before being reused by a taxidermist in Doncaster. This means that no two bottles are the same. Animals used include minks, squirrels and hares. This Belgian beer is made from nettles and juniper berries from the Scottish highlands with a total production of just 12 bottles.

2. The Lost Abbey Cable Car Kriek

Released in 2011, this wild American beer is no longer brewed, making it one of the rarest beers in the world. Lost Abbey Cable Car Kriek is essentially a bubbly wild ale with flavors of sour cherries, grapes, and plums. In fact, it's so rare that during its release, only three locations sold the beer, and it was only available to drink in-house.

3. 3 Floyd's Barrel-Aged Dark Lord de Muerte

Aged in bourbon barrels with ancho and guajillo peppers, this Russian imperial stout features label artwork by Zimmer-Design. The aroma of the beer is extremely unique with interesting notes of carrots and peas. Meanwhile, the flavor is said to include the sweetness of earthy maple supported by spicy bursts of pepper and other fruits.

4. Pabst Blue Ribbon 1844

This Chinese-made American pale ale may only have a 6% alcohol content, but it's rich in flavor because it's brewed with German caramel malts and American cascading hops. Most importantly, it should not be confused with the familiar and cheaper beer with the same name Pabst Blue Ribbon but without the '1844' label. The premium variant comes in an elegant 750ml bottle with gold lettering and a gold label emphasizing that the beer should be served in a champagne glass. An interesting change from a popular beer to a premium beer.

5. Sam Adams Utopias

This is the most famous and sought after long-brewed beer among craft beers, also because it is completely different from other beers. First, Sam Adams Utopias was banned in 15 states because of its high 28% alcohol content. On the more artisanal side, the extremely old beer is prepared in wooden barrels, Cognac and Madeira casks along with a small amount of Kosmic Mother Funk wild ale sour over several years. Only 77 wooden barrels were aged. The beer comes in a ceramic vessel shaped like Sam Adams's copper kettle.

This intriguing beer is now discontinued, but it was named The Bruery's first anniversary beer with complex flavors of dark fruit, vanilla, oak and burnt sugar. A few years later, Sapporo launches the world's first space beer using barley grains. 8. Carlsberg Jacobsen Vintage No.1

Bucking the trend of limited edition beers is this offering from legendary Danish brewery, Carlsberg. This particular beer is considered a barley wine thanks to its strength and complexity derived from caramel and premium hops. It is achieved by maturation in Edish and French oak barrels and aged for six months before being distributed over 600 bottles. What makes this beer even rarer is that it is only sold in Denmark.
