6. Russian Tornado rocket artillery system
Tornado, also known as 9K58 missile, is a Russian rocket artillery system. Developed and produced by Rosoboronexport corporation, Tornado has been in service with the Russian army since 1987.
The Tornado launcher has a launch caliber of 300mm, making it Russia's largest rocket launcher. This system is superior to similar systems in terms of range, fire effectiveness and ability to destroy enemy armored equipment.
Tornado rocket artillery can use many different types of ammunition, including incendiary cluster ammunition, anti-tank ammunition and thermobaric ammunition. Tornado is designed with 12 directional launch tubes with a maximum range of nearly 100 km and takes only 36 seconds to launch all 12 projectiles. In addition, Tornado is also equipped with a PG series panoramic viewfinder, helping to significantly improve shooting accuracy.
The Tornado rocket artillery system has been improved into many advanced versions such as Tornado-G, Tornado-S with longer range and greater attack power. Notably, when using improved ammunition, its fire coverage range is up to 680,000 square meters.
