1. Onions stored in a stocking will last up to 8 months.

Place the onion in the stocking and tie knots between the onions to form a string of onions as shown in the picture. Hang them in a corner with little sunlight and ventilation, you will magically preserve them fresh for a long time.
2. Freeze green onions in a plastic bottle.

When using, just take out a little onion and sprinkle it directly on hot raw dishes, no need to defrost. Remember to make sure the green onions are completely dry before you put them in the freezer, soggy green onions will be soggy and spoiled even when frozen.
3. Store delicate herbs such as celery, coriander, chives, basil... in an upside-down plastic bag and secure the base with a rubber band. Then put it in the refrigerator.
4. Use vinegar to help strawberries and raspberries stay fresh longer.

Prepare a mixture of 1 part vinegar (white vinegar or apple cider vinegar are fine) and 10 parts water. Soak the washed strawberries in the mixture, then drain, rinse again and put in the refrigerator. The solution is diluted enough that you don't taste the vinegar. This way, raspberries will last a week or more, and strawberries will last almost two weeks without getting moldy and mushy.
5. Don't store onions with potatoes. Onions will spoil faster. Normally, onions will last 2-3 months if kept in a cool, dry place with good air circulation.
6. But potatoes and apples are a great pair. Apples help preserve potatoes better and prevent them from sprouting too quickly.
7. Cover bananas with plastic wrap to prevent them from over-ripening too quickly.
This will keep bananas fresh for 3-5 days longer than usual, which is especially useful if you eat organic bananas. Bananas also produce more ethylene gas than any other fruit, which causes other fruits to ripen faster, so keep them away from other fruits.
8. Wrap your lettuce in paper towels to keep it fresh all week long.

Paper towels absorb water and moisture, helping your vegetables stay fresh longer in the fridge. High humidity is the culprit that causes vegetables to wilt quickly. Also, after washing your vegetables, make sure they are completely dry before putting them in the fridge.
9. Don't store tomatoes in plastic bags! The trapped ethylene will cause them to ripen faster.
Unripe tomatoes should be kept with their stems attached, stored in a paper bag or cardboard box in a cool area until they turn from green-orange to red. If you want them to ripen faster, store them with bananas. The gases released will help both ripen faster.
10. Store ginger in the freezer. Not only does it help keep the ginger fresh longer, it also makes the peel easier to peel.

11. Keep mushrooms in a paper bag to keep them longer. Plastic bags will retain moisture and cause mushrooms to quickly become watery, moldy, and smell bad.
